In French, a conte is a tale — the kind that opens with "once upon a time" and that you never fully forget.

It also happens to be our family name.

When we acquired our first apartment on the Promenade des Anglais, the wordplay was too obvious to resist: MaisonConte — The House of Tales. And because we already knew there would be more than one, we started calling the whole thing Domaine Conte — a small collection of remarkable properties across France and Europe, each chosen the way one picks a page from a favorite book.

We're a French family, based in Bordeaux.

Cédric handles the strategy. For day-to-day hosting and management, we hand-pick top-tier property managers — carefully selected with the utmost rigor to look after you and our properties. You especially: that's the very reason we choose them so carefully.

On Airbnb, our official profession is listed as "Stay Creator." It's not a cute title — it's genuinely what we do. We don't rent out an apartment: we build a stay, one night and one detail at a time, until everything has the texture of a good memory.

We've been certified Superhosts by Airbnb, with an overall rating of 4.96 / 5 across 25 verified reviews — achieved in just 10 months of hosting.

Our official "personal anecdote" on the profile sums up our philosophy better than any marketing line could:

"A 4-star is a bad review."

We actually mean that. When you welcome someone into your home, average is not a goal — it's a starting point. The most useless talent we're proud of? Spotting, at a glance, the most perfectly aligned towel in the bathroom. It's absurd. It's also, honestly, what makes the difference.

No fanfare, no big speeches. Just this:

• A place chosen with care — top floor, sea view, Carré d'Or.
• A personal welcome — keys handed in person, a first coffee on us, an honest neighborhood guide.
• Local recommendations personally tested — our favorite restaurants, the markets, the good bakery, the right beach for a toddler.

MaisonConte Nice is the first property in the Domaine. Others will follow — patiently, without rushing, at the pace of places we truly fall for, across France and elsewhere in Europe.

Every future property will share the same signature:
A remarkable address. A top floor whenever possible. Light treated as the leading character. A family behind it, not a corporation.

On the horizon: the French Riviera first, then other regions of France, then Europe — guided by encounters and genuine enthusiasm, not by a spreadsheet. Tales can't be fully planned — otherwise, they'd stop being tales.

Eight out of ten of our guests come from abroad — mostly from the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada and Australia. We speak English and French fluently, and we understand that a trip to the Riviera is almost never ordinary: it's often a dream carried for years, sometimes for a lifetime.

Our job is simple: to make the reality exceed the memory — before you even leave.
